Savant Syndrome
Savants are people who have serious physical and mental disabilities, but have noteworthy and sometimes extraordinary talents. One common misconception is that all savant's are very intelligent. These people often score low on intelligence tests, yet can recite pi to the nearest one thousandth or make an exact sculpture of something without even using their eyes. Musical, mathematic, artistic, and mechanical abilities are common talents demonstrated by savants. You may ask yourself how someone cannot simply live by themselve yet preform these amazing tasks. Garner states that we do not have an intelligence but rather multiple intelligences.
